What started as a journal on the moratorium of shopping at estate sales, continues as my journal of modern quilting, crafts of all kinds, and my estate sale finds! Moratorium? what moratorium? This blog is still in its infancy.

Long time since I last blogged
Well I cannot believe that over a month has passed since I last blogged. So much has happened! I am logging on right now to make a quick list of the things that I want to continue to work on and get finished!
I went a little crazy in early August buying the makings for embroidering keyfobs. I guess all of my abstaining from garage sales and thrift stores and stuff gave me the right a way to order supplies necessary for key fobs off of ebay. I bought the hardware and the cotton webbing. Before that though I roaned around Hancock Fabric's and JoAnn's searching for just the right ribbon/webbing combination. The sizes were are funky. I'm still in a bit of a quandry about some of them.
I did make some great ones that I am most proud of.
Then I bought dishtowels to embroider the days of the week on for a wedding present. The trouble is, I'm such a cheapskate, and so afraid that my sewing machine will eat the towel that I refuse to buy good towels. Therefore, they are not worthy of a wedding present.
At a recent parent meeting at CorJesu it was determined that prizes will be needed for the Mother-Daughter Bunko event. I've decided that this is a perfect opportunity to make stitched towels and use them as a prize. I also wanted to make the key fobs as prizes. (I had a goal of 6, but I might be stopping at 4, I've worked on them all day!) I'm such a slow poke.
(New diet has me moving a little slower - hunger pains)
Okay, so I also have designs on a pillow case for my Katie B pillow. It is larger than your average size pillow, but not quite a king size pillow. So this is another project.
I am still making Terrie K a couple of kitch towels just for fun.
I am making 6 of the key fobs that have the pocket. These will also be used for CorJesu prizes.
Found the fleece blankets I bought that need to be embroidered. One pink, one black and one green. These will get stitched and given away!
I went back to my patriotic quilt stuff because I want to make matching pillows. I stitched a design for one of them. I need to piece the fronts together - I found this awesome fabric at a thrift store for the backing. It was a Liz Claiborne skirt. That reminds me, I broke my pact. I was actually in the thrift store for a legitimate reason, but I veered off course and bought this skirt for the sole reason of sewing. Therefore, my new nine month expiration is whatever is nine months from August 23rd. I was there to buy toys and stuff for my new job! I"m excited to be a practicing Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant!!
Oh, and Sally's quilt, of course.
bye for now.
